Dr. Patel diagnoses lower extremity conditions by performing comprehensive evaluations. He regularly diagnoses and treats patients who have plantar fasciitis, bunions, hammertoes, flat feet, high arches, and sports injuries, to name a few. His patients often commend his willingness to spend time educating them about different treatment options in an effort to help patients stay involved in every step of their podiatric health care

Education


Board Certified Dr. Ankur Ashok Patel received his doctorate from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine after finishing his undergraduate degree with honors at the University of Connecticut. He then went on to complete an intensive three-year reconstructive foot and ankle surgical residency at Northwell Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital. Throughout his residency, Dr. Patel was mentored by and trained with leading podiatric and orthopedic surgeons from New York. He also received extensive experience with wound care and diabetic limb salvage and trauma care. Two years of Dr. Patel’s three year residency were spent taking 24-hour Level 1 trauma and emergency calls at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York, along with Southside Hospital in Bayshore. He is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Podiatric Medical Association.

Philosophy


Dr. Patel’s philosophy on patient care is based on compassion and efficacy. He focuses on giving patients the highest quality of care while guaranteeing their participation in managing their own medical condition. He is also skilled at building close relationships with his patients and is passionate about providing individualized care while taking patients’ lifestyles into consideration with that small town feel.

Personal Life


Born in Connecticut, Dr. Patel moved to New Milford at the age of 7, and living in the area until going to New York City for podiatric medical school and then residency. Dr. Patel is a Washington resident since 2018. He enjoys hiking, cycling, tennis, swimming, and traveling.


Dr. Patel is fluent in English and Gujarati.
